In Between Time

It has been awhile, huh?

The last time I was here, this was the spin I was working on. It has long since been put to bed.

It went into the stash with my other hand spun skeins.

And I wish I could say I’ve been crazy productive in between time. But, really, I’ve been more like crazy busy making a life for me and the girl, especially now that Boy Child has gone to college. Miss him lots.

But, in between time, we found a new park to like. The High 5! Park opened up last year and we’ve visited many times since.

The park was built for kids on the spectrum but is open to all. Girl Child loves music, so the instruments section is one of her favorite features in the park.

Many of the swinging and spinning seats are low to the ground. She likes that a lot.

Can’t ever keep her away from sliding boards!

She and The Boyfriend are becoming good buddies. He brings her candy. So that helps. πŸ™‚

She’s going to start baseball soon. I have committed to once a week. Any more than that and I don’t think I’d be coherent enough for work in the mornings lol.

I find little snippets of time to spin. It’s not as much time as I used to find. But every little bit helps deal with the stressors of single motherhood. There’s currently no visitation. So, I have to do what I can to stay healthy for the two of us. Spinning helps.

Let’s see…My last knit was something for Girl Child.

She’ll be 12 this year. Gave her a big girl look!

Beyond that, I keep up with my #saturdaynightspinning

It has been over a year now since I started that! That’s unbelievable.

These skeins were spindle spun and plied. But I have some on the wheel to knock out too next weekend.

The LadyBug spins surprisingly quietly at this home. Odd, no?

Being busted down to once a week stinks. But, it still keeps my hands in some fluff every week.

You know…in between time, in the meantime. πŸ™‚

  1. Beautiful scarf! Spinning looks like fun, too. πŸ˜€

    • Thank you! It matched up perfectly with her coat this year. 😊

It definitely is fun! You should give it a try sometime and see how you like it. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of knitting something from your own handspun!

  2. Girl child is so pretty! as is the spinning and knitting. She is a lucky girl to get such pretty things to wear when winter is dull and gray. πŸ™‚

  3. Mine is off in college too. I visited him last weekend for a few hours. I needed the mommy time. I was a single parent for many years. Definitely take care of you too and let yourself have fun spinning.

    • Thank you!! I miss him. But, he enjoys the school. It’s not very close so it’s costly for me to visit. I can only do it once or twice a year. But if he’s happy, I’m happy! 😊

I get to sneak a little spinning in here and there. Mostly on Saturdays. I’m getting spindle fever again too so…there’s that. πŸ™„

Hi Stacey! I have been paused in blogging for a bit and now just trying to catch up with you and yours. As always I love seeing your crafting and am cheering you on with all that you are being challenged with in this season of your life. I got to experiment with watercolors sitting by our front pond today. I wish you could have enjoyed the restorative time with me! xx

    • Hey Gracie! Thanks for the encouragement. I wrote blogs posts often. Just don’t post them often. Haven’t figured that all the way out yet. I’ve been playing with watercolor too in a little journal I carry with me. I’m still prone to treating the medium like oils. Covering up the white of the surface. Really trying to work on that. But you’re right. So very relaxing!
